Kerri Phalp, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work from Aurora University (2007) and a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University. Over the past 18+ years, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of mental health settings, including private practices, residential programs, serving as a Clinical Director, and providing comprehensive mental health assessments.
Over the years, I’ve had the honor of meeting many incredible people who have faced a wide range of life’s challenges. I’m continually inspired by the resilience I see in my clients and love helping them recognize strengths they often do not even realize they have. My approach has been described as compassionate, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I bring a laid-back energy to sessions and use humor when appropriate, believing that laughter can be an important part of healing and connection.
I enjoy working with adults and seniors navigating wide range of issues including life transitions, relationship stressors, anxiety, depression, women’s issues, and the unique stresses that come with caregiving. Depending on your needs, I draw from a variety of therapeutic frameworks, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, mindfulness-based strategies, and strengths-based approaches. Together, we’ll work toward finding clarity, building skills, and creating a life that feels more balanced, meaningful, and authentic.
Outside of my work, you can usually find me spending time with my family, being outdoors, traveling and dreaming of my love for the mountains.
